今、世界中で多くの医師、看護師など医療関係の皆さんが新型コロナウイルス感染症治療の最前線で戦っています。自らも感染のリスクにさらされながら、時として感染を防ぐための防御服などの物資も乏しいこともある中、献身的な治療に励んでいます。

私たちは医療に従事する皆様に、深い感謝の気持ちを持っています。

その気持ちをお届けするために、駐日イタリア大使館特命全権大使ジョルジョ・スタラーチェ大使夫妻のお力添えと音楽の力をお借りすることになりました。テノール歌手の佐野成宏様、ピアニストの篠宮久徳様のご賛同を得て、美しいイタリア大使公邸で、歌の贈り物を作りました。

YMCAは皆さんにいつも伴走しています。

*募金の一部は、国立感染症研究所に寄付され、新型コロナウイルスのワクチン開発のために使われます。

Message from the National Council of YMCAs of Japan,
H.E. Mr. Giorgio Starace and Mrs. Matelda Starace,
the Italian ambassador to Japan
and his spouse and the Italian Embassy in Japan

Right now, doctors, nurses, and many other health care professionals around the world are working on the front lines of the battle against the novel coronavirus (COVID-19). They are committed to delivering essential medical services despite being exposed to the risk of infection, in some cases while lacking personal protective equipment and other supplies.

We are deeply grateful to all those engaged in providing medical care.

With the generous support of the Italian Ambassador to Japan Giorgio Starace and his wife, we have called on the power of music to express our gratitude. Tenor Shigehiro Sano and pianist Hisanori Shinomiya agreed to perform several songs at the Italian ambassador’s beautiful residence as a show of appreciation.

*A portion of the donated funds will be allocated to the National Institute for Infectious Diseases Lazzaro Spallanzani in Italy to go towards the research and development of a COVID-19 vaccine.
