和歌山YMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーラン 2019

The 2020 YMCA International Charity Run officially kicked off from Wakayama YMCA. It was held at Wakayama Citizen Sports Plaza on April 28, the first day of the 10-day Golden Week holidays. Blessed with fine weather, it was a rousing success.
Many people participated, including regular runners who participate every year to celebrate the charity run’s spirit of “enjoy and charity”.
This time, even one runner from Hokkaido was registered! Unfortunately, the runner was not able to participate in Wakayama, but instead of participating in the charity run, he sent 40 “Konbu-Kelp”, a Hokkaido specialty, as a sponsor.
One of the distinctive features of the Wakayama YMCA International Charity Run is the “Fun Run” (an approximately 900meter course run by a group of 2 to 4), where families including small children can enjoy the course. With a large number of participants from the locality, the charity run has become a familiar tradition in Wakayama, bringing increasing participation over the years.
In the Charity Run, we attracted interviews and reports by local media agencies such as Wakayama Shimpo Newspaper and Wakayama TV. Through media exposure, people in the region are coming to know the meaning of the YMCA International Charity Run. We hope that interest in the Wakayama YMCA International Charity Run will continue to grow within the community, encouraging increasing local participation in the future.
Starting with Wakayama in spring 2019, the YMCA International Charity Run will be held at 21 locations nationwide. Please participate in the YMCA International Charity run at your nearest venue.



2019年度のYMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランは和歌山YMCAから開始となりました。10連休の初日となる4月28日に、和歌山市民スポーツ広場で行われました。天候にも恵まれ、すばらしい大会となりました。

毎年参加してくださる常連のランナーもふくめ、“楽しんでチャリティーを”という趣旨のもと、多くの方にご参加いただきました。
今回は、北海道からも参加登録！残念ながら参加はかないませんでしたが、名産の「昆布」を40本も、協賛品としてお送りいただきました。
和歌山YMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランの特色の一つ、Fun Run (約900ｍを2名～4名のグループで走ります)では、小さなお子さまと一緒に、家族で参加いただいた方もあり、会場も大いに賑わいました。
今回の大会は地元マスコミの取材（わかやま新報）、TV取材を（テレビ和歌山）がありましたので、開催の記事を目にする方も多いでしょう。今後も、和歌山のYMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランが地元にさらに広がっていくように願っています。

2019年度はこの和歌山を皮切りにして、全国21カ所でYMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランが行われます。
