The 22nd Yamanashi YMCA International Charity Run was held on June 8th at Oze Sports Park.
Under a clear blue sky, 51 teams participated, with 260 runners and 100 volunteers. Support from companies, individuals, and management volunteers, through their major contributions, have resulted in much more financial support than was initially expected for this tournament.
The participants came from a wide age group, from zero-year-olds in strollers to people in their 80s. Everyone had a mission to find joy in joining to support challenged handicapped children.
In addition, YMCA International Charity Run is one of the opportunities to show our attitude towards work at Yamanashi YMCA. During the tournament, there were a lot of people who had seen a figure of a young runner running while calling out, “A little more! Do your best” beside children who were running out of breath. We value the support for each person, which is the starting point of our mission.
Running together, sweating together, enjoying together, crying together… I hope that the spirit of everyone at the Oze Sports Park in the YMCA International Charity Run will spread to Japanese society widely.
YMCA will be reborn next year. We will continue to make efforts as a base for community and community development where we can work together. We look forward to your continued support and participation.


第22回山梨YMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランが 6月8日に小瀬スポーツ公園補助競技場で開催されました。
当日は、澄み渡る青空の下、51チームが参加、ランナー数は260名、ボランティアも100名を超え、大きな大会となりました。企業・個人、運営ボランティアの皆様の大きな貢献による御寄付、協賛により、この大会からの協賛金は予想をはるかに超える結果となっています。

参加者はベビーカーに乗って参加のゼロ歳児から80代までの広い年齢層にわたり、世代を超えた多くの人々が集まりました。皆、参加することに喜びを見出し、さらにはチャレンジドチルドレンを支えるというミッションを各自が持っています。

また、YMCAインターナショナル・チャリティーランは、私たち山梨YMCAの仕事への姿勢を示す一つの機会ともなっています。大会中、息を切らして走る子どもの傍らで「もう少しだ！がんばれ。」と声をかけながら走っている青年ランナーの姿を見かけた方々も多いことでしょう。一人ひとりへの対応を大切にし、支援をしていく、それが私たちの仕事の原点にほかなりません。

ともに走る、ともに汗をかき、ともに喜び、ともに泣く・・・この日小瀬スポーツ公園で共に過ごしたみなさんの姿が、もっともっと社会に広がっていくことを願ってやみません。

YMCAは来年、新しく生まれ変わります。これからもともに手を取り合える地域・社会づくりの拠点として、邁進してまいります。これからも変わらぬご支援、ご参画、どうぞよろしく願いいたします。
