The YMCA Asian Language Institute offers a comprehensive program of training in Japanese.Training focuses on reading, listening, writing, and speaking. Students are placed in appropriate levels―advanced, intermediate, beginning―after the YMCA proficiency test.
Excerpts from newspapers and videotaped portions of current news are used for further improvement in reading and listening.

For busy business people, we offer a short term course which meets once a week for three weeks. The class meets from 8 to 8:45 in the morning. This course will focus on developing business communication skills with relation to Japanese business customs and manners.
If you are here in Japan on business and are unable to attend our regular course, we can arrange private lessons just for you.
We have a course designed for those who plan to stay in Japan from 1 week to 3 months and who wish to study Japanese intensively. We can arrange a course with a number of students ranging from several to 50. We will design a course to meet your specific needs.
We also welcome high school and college students who wish to utilize their summer and winter vacation to study Japanese. If you have any questions regarding tuition, date and time, please feel free to contact the office for more information.
